Halfway between dada, futurism and hypnotism, Truna and his Monsters, the show he will bring to the LEM, is a different approach to the monster movies of the 50s and 60s. Marimba Landscapes is an exhibition of the evolution and sound possibilities of the marimba.Īndrés Blasco, better known as Truna, is the inventor of the magical suitcase: a device to which he connects the cello or different invented gadgets to produce a sequence of oniric sounds that becomes the live soundtrack for Super 8mm films.

At the opening concert of the LEM, Aranda will present Marimba Landscapes, a sound and image trip where electronics and video melt together with a re-discovering of the contemporary marimba. Master at the conservatories of Antwerp and The Hague, awarded at the International Chiapas Marimbists Festival (19), he has worked with prominent artists such as Jan Fabre, who described him as “wonderful Mexican percussionist”.
